Bannermen takes you back to a time where power lies with the person who carries the sword. Command your troops through the war-ridden land, place your banner and let no one stand in your way to fame and glory.
The game takes place in a semi-fantasy medieval world that has been brutally damaged due to decades of war, starvation and natural disasters. The people are in desperate need of a powerful leader that can unite the kingdom. Many tribes claim their right, but there is only room for one banner in the kingdom capital.

Bannermen is a real-time strategy (RTS) game, developed by the Swedish studio Pathos Interactive. The game will test your abilities as a battle commander where the main tasks consist of base building, resource management and battling enemy armies.

Bannermen will contain a singleplayer campaign, where you get to follow an abandoned lord who recently lost his land and nobility. The campaign constitutes a journey from the bottom to the top, where the goal is to make your lord retake his position as one of the mightiest in the realm.

Since the game does not take place in a certain time or place on earth, we have had the liberty to create our very own setting. However, the style of the buildings and units are inspired by the medieval period in north and western Europe. Some examples are shown below.

You will be able to play against other players online, and even enter a ladder system. The online mode supports up to 8 players in a match and the gameplay follows a familiar RTS concept:
Each player starts with a main base and a number of workers. Thereafter, the players expand their bases by gathering resources, constructing buildings and producing units. The units are then used to conquer the map and battle enemies. The game ends when all enemy buildings are destroyed.

The multiplayer section will also provide the Arena Mode. This game mode does not contain any base building or resource management - each player starts with an army, and the goal is to defeat your enemy with minimal casualties. A game in the Arena Mode is divided in several rounds.

Bannermen takes place in a vast kingdom where the climate varies. Therefore, the maps and the environment varies depending on where in the realm you are located. You will experience everything from wintry landscapes to green valleys and deserts.

An awesome feature in Bannermen is the dynamic level events. Several maps, especially the ones in the campaign, contain environmental events that are designed to create interesting scenarios with different strategic paths possible. Therefore, a tactic that appears to be successful on one map, may be disastrous on another. The environmental events are either timed or triggered by the player. Avalanches, lightning strikes, earthquakes and ice-melting are some examples.

The game will be released on PC/Mac.
