Do you know what makes a good game?
We’re pretty sure you do, so make your opinion count – and help independent developers at the same time. Each game’s campaign ends after 28 days, and if the response is strong, we may offer to support the project in the future!
Uprise is an action-adventure game that takes place in a retro-futuristic world.
Uprise is an action-adventure game that takes place in a retro-futuristic world. Our inspiration for the game was born from the comic books, posters and science fiction tales from the 40s to 60s, referring to the period known as Atomic Age.
Flying cars, floating cities and automata domestic robots are just a few examples of the wonders of this world. Although they never really existed, we decided to bring some of these inventions to life by bringing them to Uprise's universe. There the player is one of many worker robots in the city of Endeavor, who after being identified with a defect, is expelled and finds himself in a mysterious world that has long been abandoned.
Uprise is portrayed in hand-drawn 2D graphics. To better show the details and tell the story of this fantastic universe, we chose to develop the game with an isometric view, in this way we believe that we can increase the immersion of the player, maintain an interesting gameplay and allow a greater exploration of the scenarios, without lose the characteristics of the retro-futuristic art style.
In Uprise the player can explore huge areas, finding secret items and passages. On his way, he will face several enemies in a challenging combat system. Throughout the game will unlock new skills that allow you to access secret locations and solve challenges.
Some of these skills are:
- Teleporter beam: It is a weapon that when the player fires it, a projectile crosses the screen and allows the robot to be immediately teleported to the position of the projectile.
- Enemy Control: Some specific enemies can be controlled and used for various purposes, such as accessing blocked passages or even fighting other, stronger enemies. Each controlled enemy will have unique abilities, providing creative ways to solve challenges.
New skills will be announced during game development.
The enemies of Uprise's world follow the aesthetics of robots that exist in the retrofuturist universe. They are modifications of machines that were used in the daily life of the human being and that due to reasons that the player will discover during the game, have been transformed into machines of war.
An example of this is the Fuzitron (Multiclass unit of firing) which was originally a domestic helper for the whole family.
Or this candy machine, which now releases combat robots.
In a devastated retro-futuristic world, a small worker robot begins to have strange dreams and for unknown reasons is unable to fulfill its function in the city of Endeavor. He is discarded, exiled and then begins a journey through answers about what those dreams were, what their origin is and the fate of their kind.
The story is told through texts, posters and the scenery itself. Every area of the game has a purpose in the narrative and together they tell what has led this once glorious world to ruins.
✔ Beautiful environments to discovery
✔ Hidden items and locations
✔ Discover the history and the mysteries of this devastated land
✔ Original enemies based on the retro futurism style

✔ Use your teleport gun to reach secrets locations
Uprise 's art is based on Retrofuturism, as shown in posters and science fiction magazines of the 60s. To make this feel, we look for influence in architectures and graphics of the Art Deco movement.
The atmosphere of the game takes place, for the most part, in an abandoned world full of old robots deactivated.
The greatest effort in the graphic area was to show the feeling of a world that in the past was great and is now in ruins.
Initially the game will be released for PC by Steam. But we have plans to make available on other platforms like Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
We are a company of 3 people located in Brazil and we are developing Uprise so far with our own investment.
But in order to deliver the complete game with everything we
have planned we need your support. If you liked the project, vote for us and

We have been developing Uprise for almost 1 year and we are very happy with the feedback we have received so far. We were even approved on Steam Greenlight.
Square Enix Collective will be essential to connect us with more players and achieve the full vision that we expect for the game.
