Do you know what makes a good game?
We’re pretty sure you do, so make your opinion count – and help independent developers at the same time. Each game’s campaign ends after 28 days, and if the response is strong, we may offer to support the project in the future!
The Fall of Lazarus
THE FALL OF LAZARUS is a first person exploration science fiction mystery game. Fathom all the story exploring an abandoned cargo spaceship.
The Fall of Lazarus is a first person exploration and mystery game set in a science fiction future. You are a crew member of the USSC Lazarus waking up from cryo sleep without memories and even without name in an apparently abandoned drifting cargo spaceship. But you’re not alone, there is also Hybris, the Artificial intelligence who commands the ship.
We will launch The Fall of Lazarus on PC (Steam, GoG, Humble Store...) at first. We obviously want to release it on as much platforms as we can, but right now we have to focus on the PC version.
We have plans to have native support for VR sets as well. We think videogames like this one can benefit of the immersion and upgraded experience these fancy toys offer. We have worked with it in the past (you can check this out in our studio website) and, believe us, it's something you have to try to really understand its full potential.
We have built a background full of details (war between corporations, terraformation of other worlds, backstories of the whole crew members of the USSC Lazarus...) you can discover exploring inch by inch of the cargo ship.
But we don't want to give all the details away too soon. We want you to discover them playing the game (and the autoconclusive prologue demo available below) and not spoiling it for you!
The Fall of Lazarus is a deeply narrative video game. You will have to solve some puzzles and explore in order to advance in the story. The universe and story will unveil branching along the scenary, objects and documents left behind by the people who lived in the Lazarus at some point.
In addition if you search and connect the dots maybe a greater puzzle will be revealed and the darker truth around you will become brighter. The truth is darker than space.
The game takes place aboard the USSC Lazarus (Unified Space Ship Companies), a ship that belongs to KS Industries (Kübler-Ross), a company dedicated to the i
nterstellar transport of goods and with close ties to the mining industry. The player takes on the role of the protagonist, a veteran of the Venusian wars looking to carve out a new future for himself. He has enlisted to participate in an eight-year mission to work on a mining colony. When he wakes up from hypersleep he finds himself alone on the ship.
The player must then explore, investigate and find a way to get off the ship before it explodes. Along the way, the protagonist will experience a series of traumatic events related to his personal life: visions, dreamlike recollections, strange noises and apparitions that mess with his head and make him question what is real and what is not.
The mystery of what is happening is the basis of the Lazarus gameplay, although the player is the one who
gathers all the clues and details scattered throughout the ship to reach the conclusion.
The Fall of Lazarus is a first person exploration game. There is a main story you’ll play but you’ll have to search and inspect every detail of the scenary looking for clues, notes, letters and objects and piece by piece gather information about what’s happening around you.
There are a lot of mysteries aboard the USSC Lazarus and depends on you how many of them you can resolve along your journey. At the end of it maybe you resolve the bigger puzzle around what’s going on. Maybe you’re right. Maybe you’re wrong. You’ll need to have in mind every detail in order to unveil the whole story.
You’ll have to resolve some logic puzzles as well, but we wanted to integrate them in the narrative and the scenery. You are in a spaceship and we wanted it to feel like it. The interaction with these puzzles is the same as in the rest of the game trying to not break the immersion in the story.
If you want to use the terminals of the Lazarus you'll have to break in them through social hacking cheking the exonet looking for information.
Some will give you key information, others will help you in your way out. There is a whole operating system full of software and apps filled with information of any kind to explore and take advantage of. You’ll have a tool (called Mnem/0z1n3) that will help you gathering and classifying information and breaking through password protected terminals.
You also will have to solve some mechanic puzzles (the USSC Lazarus is falling apart and if you want to survive you'll have to fix it before getting out). Engine malfunction, fixing the stelar map... and a suspicious and omnipresent AI messing around . There's no easy way out!
The Fall of Lazarus: The First Passenger is the auto conclusive prologue and demo of The Fall of Lazarus. In this little adventure set in the year 2180 you will play as Caleb Rogers, a Gen-Ethics (an audit firm focused on controlling the normative and quality of criogenic, clonation and genetic alteration processes) who wakes up in the USSC Lazarus against his will.
The First Passenger is a little slice of the final game where we showcase all the playable mechanics of the full game and also works as an example of the narrative we want to play with. You can play a whole level of the USSC Lazarus out of the five levels will include the final game, every one of them highly detailed and full of objects and terminal to interact with while playing the main story. But we wanted you to enjoy this little stand alone experience separately if you want to. This is only the prologue with another protagonist but we highly recommend you to stay tuned and, when the day comes, enjoy the full experience.

We are currently working full time in the final game. We've already built the levels of the spaceship and we're implementing the events of the script.
The USSC Lazarus is filled with six levels of rooms and corridors: crew hub, cryostasis chambers, cargo bay, vital support, bridge, engine, scape pods... and the story runs through all of them at some point.
We'll soon start talking with some of the music and sound effects studios that approached to us at Gamelab 2016. We want to work side by side with them as soon as we can in order to can develop the best experience possible, and that includes the audio too!
Right now we're focused on implementing and programming the outside stages of the script. Yeah, you've read right. We have several surprises and, if you've played the prologue demo The First Passenger you should know the USSC Lazarus will not be the only scenery you'll visit.
If you want to know more we don't want to spoil it for you, stay tuned and play the full game when it's ready!
We want to release The Fall of Lazarus early 2017.
First of all, we are a small indie development team and we want to reach as many people as possible. This is a great community full of people willing to help developers to improve their games and, you know, we love feedback.
The interaction with the final user is vital for us. We are building a videogame relying on the player and we want them to enjoy the best experience we can possibly build. And we need you for that.
Also the Square Enix support is a great international flag and would really help us to reach the international market. You know it's so hard to be seen in this overpopulated market.
David BernadHead of studio, producer and programmer. CEO, not a code monkey. Able to reach Mach 4 by foot, his TOC size is only rivaled by his Steam’s library. His gaze will guide this studio to business success. You are a ‘casual’ and he knows. He hates beyond his possibilities.
Johnny PratCreative director and graphic artist. He holds the Guinness record for the largest number of logo designs for the same enterprise in the shortest possible time. Legends say that he may be able to draw but it is not vouched. His world is fire and pixels. The Criterionbringer™.
Carlos CarreraProgrammer. With Borja’s arrival he has been promoted to “the new”. Now we love him a little more than before. He programs with the ‘No’ by flag, he also serves as an infinity sound bank. The sound of giving him a campion is the new scream of Wilhelm.
Borja PeinadoScript writer. Obviously he is the new new guy at the office. He is documented beyond his means. If there is a misspelling in a ten meter radius, his world sight changes to Terminator HUD and TARGET ACQUIRED, TERMINATE. He is also the Gatekeeper.
