Do you know what makes a good game? We’re pretty sure you do, so make your opinion count – and help independent developers at the same time. Take a look through the projects published here, and let us know if you’d back a game through crowdfunding or not by voting. Even better, help to shape that game idea by leaving your feedback in the comments section. Each game’s campaign ends after 28 days, and if the response is strong, we may lend our support as well when it lands on Indiegogo or Kickstarter.

Guns and Robots is free to play online shooter that combines robot action with massive customization. Players get cartoony bright 3D graphics in attractive environments and challenge each other in open arenas. Play Guns and Robots for free at www.play-gar.com

Progress

Guns and Robots is currently in open beta. We are looking to to raise funds and support the further development of the game. Your support through the Collective platform is needed to complete the features we set in our Roadmap so that players like you will get the full experience.

The Story Behind the Game

The idea behind Guns and Robots was born after in-house competition for the prototype of a new game. There were quite fun and interesting concepts, but Guns and Robots managed to stand out of the 12 competitors. We decided to select it and to start development as we wanted to bring out something unique with a lot of humor and visual style. The task was challenging but really fun for the Studio. Our idea was to reveal the characters of the robots via the antinomy of being cute but deadly at the same time. We always wanted to give the freedom of character customization that is why we were thrilled to make those zany looking, fun tin-heads and bring them to our players.

Guns and Robots is still work in progress and we would like to bring out finished product the way we imagined it and the way community helped us shape.

The Art Style

The weapons we create in Guns and Robots are unique because they do not refer to any realistic weapons we have seen in a shooter. We do not want them to be alike and that is why we are constantly aiming at the unique visuals, balance, interesting usage, constantly improving their modifiers and attachments.

Weapons in GAR are generally classified in three main categories – heavy, light and medium. As GAR is all about customization we have fine-tuned the weaponry with all kinds of household utensils which are pure fun to use.

Fun cartoon style weapon attachments make the weapons look not as frightening as they really are. What we like most about our weapons is the freedom to tailor the arsenal according to every specific play style.

The Engine

For the development of Guns and robots we utilize Unity engine. Unity is powerful engine, that well deserves its reputation. It provides for rapid development of the game features and possible future integration and ports of the game into Web Client, mobile devices and consoles. The integration of Unity for our purposes helped us to improve the process of localization of the game.

  • Massive customization. In Guns and Robots, the robots come in three module classes based on players' assembly and unlimited options for character customization.

  • Pinpoint enemies with multiple weapons simultaneously. Wide variety of potential combinations per weapon allow players to fine—tune their arsenal according to their game play preferences.

  • Enjoyable and extremely funny online arenas where players literally blast their way through.

  • Adrenaline-pumping game play. Different maps add fine mixture of thrill, speed and action to the game play.

  • Dynamic combat experience. Players can choose to line up for high-level real-time combat.

  • Player Guilds. Players can join, create guilds and benefit from numerous guild features.

  • Achievements.Variety of achievements for the players with exceptional performance.

  • Capture the Batteries (Capture the Flag)

  • Team Deathmatch

  • Bomb Squad (Destroy the Enemy Base)

If we manage to raise funds we will work on the following features:

  • Territory Conquest– One of the major additions in Guns and Robots will be this new play mode that will allow players to conquer territories in ranked guild death- matches, where players will fight in open world arenas to dominate one territory.
  • Game Tournaments – Player competitions with different rules and great prizes.
  • Localization. We would like to localize Guns and Robots on up to ten languages.
  • New maps and new game modes. Upon Open Beta Release we had plans to make 10 maps and at the moment we managed to release 6 of them. We also plan for 2 more game modes - " robot race" and "free for all".

Our campaign on Collective Platform is a big challenge for us! We hope that you will support us and Guns and Robots will reach its full potential! We joined the platform because we are eager to meet all of you and gather valuable feedback. We also hope to raise the funds needed to finish the game, localize it on different languages and most importantly bring you the new features we promised. The team behind Guns and Robots has been truly inspired by the drive, support and, most of all your feedback and patience while going through Greenlight. We managed to build amazing community and we are very grateful to have been beside us these last months to help us get on Steam and support us.

However, to accomplish the features ahead we need your help once again. We hope you’ll consider investing in the future of Guns and Robots. Vote for this campaign and help us in our efforts to get more exposure via sharing it with a tweet.( Support @GunsandRobots a free to play indie game on @SQEXCollective ! #crowdfunding#indie )

Thank you!

Sincerely,
Team of Guns and Robots

Honestly this game does seem like a good game, but it isn't my type..... this game with some good publicity will be able to get some popularity and will get more and more downloads especially when you consider its free. Me, i would recommend adding something like aerial combat or capture the flag and it's set and ready to go which is why i say yes...

The graphics style looks interesting, but a cartoon style of graphics is spreading like wildfire on indie titles. So what would set this game apart? Also if this game does get successfully funded why not make the player heavily reliant on guilds/clans and force it down the players throat. I'm not talking about making it really hard but try and nurse the community into growing with chats, exclusive guild events (not just matches), and a point and hierarchy system in guilds.

It looks like a mix off games graphics from a few games but I think it could be a good game it just depends on the price of game content allot of gamers me included are put off games with silly money prices for content but pay if it's not just a pay to play basis (as in you will need to spend more than once or twice in the game) but I've seen comment after comment saying the same thing getting allot of people to spend a little is better than afew spending allot and will do your rep the world o g

Seems like a fun game. However, I think this presentation should explain how exactly 'free' the game is. I mean, will it have real money transactions? If so, which will be? As far as I'm concerned no game is entirely 'f2p'.

Game's nice looking and it looks like lots of fun.It is going to have a good player base. Sadly it's going to be out-shadowed by Plants vs Zombies : Garden Warfare who has the same toony humor/graphic.It's up for time to tell,I voted yes because it's really a good game.
